
John Quinn, CFRE
Vice President
John leads Furst Group's Philanthropy practice, which specializes in executive search and consulting for foundations of hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers and related provider organizations.
John re-joined Furst Group in the summer of 2007 following more than five years working as a fundraising executive for organizations in education and health care, most recently with SwedishAmerican Health System in Rockford, Illinois.
Having begun his career with Furst Group in 1995 as an Associate, John rapidly progressed to increasingly broader roles involving search strategy design, candidate recruitment and assessment, and client management. He has completed dozens of successful engagements for a wide variety of positions from Chief-level executives across the leadership team to functional leaders in Sales, Marketing, Development, Information Technology, Actuarial Services and Network Development, among others. John is extremely intuitive and adept at quickly understanding his client's corporate culture, market focus and specific talent needs, and then implementing a search strategy to find the right candidate.
John belongs to the Rotary Club and Next Rockford, a group of young executives dedicated to improving the overall cultural, economic and educational vitality of the Rockford area. In 2008, he was named to the Rockford Chamber of Commerce inaugural list of top 40 leaders under the age of 40.
A certified fundraising executive, John also holds a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and English, as well as a master's degree in Medical Ethics from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He has also served as adjunct faculty for Rockford College and a regular instructor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Rockford, in the area of Medical Ethics.
