Onboarding
Throughout the search process, we collaborate with the department or leadership team to develop a transition plan which includes:
- Benchmarks
- Measurement criteria
- 120-180 day work plan to include checkpoints for consulting/coaching intervention
- Designation of an internal mentor through the transitional phase
- If appropriate, the use of additional assessment tools
This transition plan has three primary audiences: the individual's new department or team; the larger business unit; and, if appropriate, the board or CEO/CFO.

Succession Planning
Far too often an organization thinks of succession planning only in the same thought of a leader's retirement. To ensure the viability of an organization in the event of an unplanned departure, succession planning must be an integral part of the strategic focus. Employees also benefit from the succession planning process as it lays a framework for a clear career path. Furst Group begins this process by evaluating the leadership needs of an organization. By developing a comprehensive SWOT analysis and projecting the needs of the future, we can accurately determine the skills necessary to allow someone to move into the affected position. Often, these skills are not readily available or identified within the organization. Rather than staffing immediately for this potential need, most organizations are best served by grooming a key member of the team for the position. By identifying the road map, a personal development plan will be initiated to ensure future needs are met. This plan may include personal coaching on style issues, additional training, or simply mentoring opportunities for the individual.
